JUST A REMINDER

This Sunday, July 22, is the first day to post your views on the book and its effect on your life. I'm excited to read the posts as well as share how this reading is affecting my life. I will have an official count of how many women are reading after Sunday's post. Empowerment One Page At A Time!!!!!! God Bless you all:)

  1. Hey ya'll! I wanted to wait until E started a new thread but I was too anxious! lol. Let me begin by saying glory to God!!! Reading this book for the second time is definitely renewing my perspective on some things. I've gained several tidbits that hit me with revelation but more than anything dedicating the time daily to God has been amazing. It is so easy to get caught up in our daily lives that we put God on the backburner...knowing He will understand we had to work, do hw, or other things. But spending time with him is very instrumental in our spiritual growth and it is sort of like tithing. The book club helps us to hold each other accountable. So we are more apt to spending the time because we know others are sacrificing too and we will be discussing our readings. I don't want to get carried away, but I will say that the first week of reading has made me stop several times a day and ask... is this really necessary? Is this something I want or is it beneficial to my purpose? Will this bring God glory or will it just make me feel good? I can't wait to hear how things are going with you all :) Love(and I mean it), Kimyatta

  2. Kimyatta, your post is so true!analyzing if my acitivities is forfilling my purpose was also a question as I did day to day task.

I am also reading the book again and its like a breath of fresh air. It's renewing and refreshing. Knowing that my day to day activities are not just "activities" but actual steps toward eternity has caused me to stop a couple time this week to do things a little differently. I am eager to store up things that do not rust away but will last through eternity (Mathew 6:19).

Day 6 was very interesting to me. So many times I've tried to store up many things on the earth that will not last. Anyone else notice how fast life is going. I remember as a little girl, I thought the summers was like eternity. God word states our life is but a vapor.......Now I'm understanding what he means. I still feel like its the summer of 2007. 22, just graduated from college. But no, its 2012. where has the time went? The book of James saids our life is but a vapor, my prayer is that I use it wisely, forfilling the purpose of life. :)

  3. Wow Nodica! I agree completely. God bless you!!! You are so right about life seemingly going quicker these days. I too want to store up things for eternity... after all that is the destination to this journey we are traveling. It so easy to get caught up in mondane daily activities and before you know it life has passed us by. I appreciate the grace of God... His mercy that has given me the opportunity to be able to embark on this journey with you all!

  4. I'm excited to journey together Kimist:) Have you ever heard of "the Pilgrim's Promise"? It's a really good movie and book about the Christian journey. Some of your wording in your post reminded me of this.
